Eating in Lyon

On the way back from Val d’Isere this Christmas we’re staying in Lyon for one night at the Hotel Carlton. Lyon is the gastronomic capital of France. Last time we ended up eating in one of the tourist traps on the Rue Mercière. This time I’m hoping we can find something a little better than a tourist bouchon.

Here’s the choices I’ve narrowed it down to, in preference order:

La Tassee
20 rue de la Charité
04 72 77 79 00

Le Sud
11 Place Antonin-Poncet
04 72 77 80 00

Les Adrets
30, rue du Boeuf
04 78 38 24 30

If we fancy a bouchon (local eaterie serving hearty local meals in a boisterous atmosphere) then some of the best can be found on the rue du Garet, including:

Garet (No. 7; 33-4-78-28-16-94)
Le Petit Bouchon Chez Georges, (No. 8; 33-4-78-28-30-46)
Petit Flore (No. 19; 33-4-78-27-27-51)
